About Vincent Van Gogh
It wasn't until years after his death that Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) became the most famous artist to put paint to canvas. With his bold strokes and vivid colors, Van Gogh managed to paint many of the world’s best known canvas masterpieces: Starry Night, Irises, and Van Gogh’s Self Portrait, to name a few. During his time as an artist, Van Gogh profited very little from his work and his unfortunate death from a self inflicted gun shot wound may have cut his legacy short. Today, canvas giclees are an affordable alternative to Van Gogh's original million dollar works of art. Museums often display Van Gogh canvas giclees when the originals are unavailable.
